Visiting the College
MLC welcomes all students and their families, staff and visitors where we have a whole school approach of supporting safe and stimulating learning environment.
All visitors and contractors are required to sign in to Hamley Reception, where they will be given a Visitors' Badge. Please note, this does not
includes guests who are visiting The Terrace Restaurant
- please visit the Restaurant directly.
Hamley Reception is open from 8 am until 5 pm during school term, and 9 am until 5 pm during school holidays
. If you are visiting the College outside of these hours, you must have arrangements made with the staff member you are meeting.
Those who are attending an Open Morning or a public event are not required to sign in at Hamley Reception. Please follow the directional signs for Information Session registration / sign in.
Limited carparking is available on campus. It is recommended that visitors park on Barkers Road or neighbouring streets, adhering to parking restrictions and clearway times as set by Boroondara Council.
Designated drop off zones are in various locations around the campus. These are located in Fitzwilliam Street, MLC Kindle (enter from Lofts Avenue) and the MLC Chapel Car Park / Junior School Bus Shelter Zone (enter from Barkers Road).
Public Transport Access
MLC is fortunate to have easy public transport options and is only 8 km from the Melbourne CBD. The route 16 tram stops directly outside of MLC on Glenferrie Road, and connects to many other tram routes including routes 8, 70, 72 and 75. Glenferrie Railway Station is an easy 10 minute walk down the road, serviced by the Belgrave/Lilydale/Alamein lines, which includes quick direct access to the Melbourne CBD.

Panorama School Buses:
Panorama Coaches has specialised in providing buses specifically for Kew-based independent school students for many years and MLC students have benefitted from the Panorama Coaches’ routes, through MLC’s 30 year partnership with the group.
There are four routes: Eltham-Templestowe-Balwyn, Lower Plenty-Rosanna-Eaglemont-Ivanhoe East, Bundoora-Watsonia-Heidelberg-Alphington and Reservoir-Preston-Thornbury-Northcote-Brunswick-Fitzroy North-Clifton Hill (new in 2021). These are safe, convenient student-only services and are suitable for flexible bookings.
These route areas are indicated by the shaded areas on the map above, however specific routes are subject to change dependent on bookings.
