Our ‘Workout Wednesday’ Activity from the Boarding House this week is Pilates.
 
Pilates is a form of low-impact exercise which aims to strengthen muscles while improving postural alignment. It consists of multiple exercises, inspired by yoga and ballet. Pilates lengthens and stretches all the major muscle groups in the body in a balanced fashion.  
 
No matter your fitness level, Pilates offers a range of benefits including improved flexibility and posture, muscle strength, balance, body awareness, increased lung capacity through deep breathing, stress management and relaxation.
 
For this workout, ensure you are wearing comfortable, stretchy clothes. Find some space to complete your Pilates workout. A yoga mat is optional, but if you have one, roll it out and use it.
