All-Rounder Scholarships (Performing Arts)

Awarded to students who reflect the MLC values of respect, responsibility and compassion. Applicants will need to demonstrate a high level of academic achievement and be performing at a state or national standard in the Performing Arts.

The successful candidate will also have made a contribution to the broader community and will need to demonstrate a commitment to engaging and contributing as a member of the MLC community.

OPENING DATE: MONDAY 12 OCTOBER 2020
CLOSING DATE: WEDNESDAY 17 FEBRUARY 2021
EXAMINATION DATE: SATURDAY 27 FEBRUARY 2021

 

Year of Entry:

  • Year 7 (Scholarship tenable for 6 years)
  • Year 9 (Scholarship tenable for 4 years)
  • Year 10 (Scholarship tenable for 3 years)
  • Year 11 (Scholarship tenable for 2 years)

Eligibility:

  • Australian citizens, permanent Australian residents, or temporary residents
  • Currently at MLC or attending another school
  • Completion and submission of the MLC All-Rounder Scholarship Form (See Documentation below)
  • Proof accompanying the above mentioned form of performing at a state or national standard in the Performing Arts
  • Students must be registered with ACER Scholarships as well as submit an MLC Scholarship Application
  • Made a contribution to the broader community

Documentation to be uploaded with Scholarship Application:

  • Results of the most recent School Report
  • Evaluation of a 200-word statement on why the candidate is applying for this scholarship; this should be written by the student, demonstrating her accomplishments, talents, any leadership experience and her reasons for wanting to attend MLC
  • Documents to support the achievements of scholarship application
  • A passport sized photo
  • Complete the following MLC All-Rounder Scholarship (Performing Arts) Form:  CLICK HERE 

The applicant will then have:

  • Results of the ACER Scholarship Test
  • Evaluation through Interview. Candidates short-listed for an interview will be contacted by email

Value:

  • A percentage of the annual tuition fees and technology levy, this includes computer, technology support and peripherals

Conditions:

  • A scholarship holder will be expected to represent the school in productions, festivals and special events and any other opportunities she is selected in. 
  • ​A scholarship holder will be a passionate and enthusiastic student who enjoys being involved in a creative process, that is collaborative and inclusive. She will actively participate in the Dramatic Arts co-curricular program as participant or a leader
  • Scholarship holders are expected to complete their secondary education at MLC.

Application Steps

Step 1: Apply for an MLC Scholarship by clicking on the Apply for Scholarship link at the bottom of this page.  

Step 2: Complete either the MLC All-Rounder Scholarship Form – SPORTS PERFORMANCE.pdf or MLC All-Rounder Scholarship Form – PERFORMING ARTS.pdf​​, whichever is relevant to your scholarship application type chosen 

Step 3: Finalise the MLC Scholarship Application form and click submit 

Step 4: Go to  http://scholarships.acer.edu.au/intro/2061 to register for the ACER Scholarship Test with ACER Scholarships, the cost will be $115.00 

Step 5: Attend an MLC Open Morning to get to know our wonderful College and what we have to offer your daughter 

Step 6: Sit the ACER Scholarship Test on Saturday 27 February 2021 

Step 7: Short-listed candidates will be contacted by email in mid-March with an invitation to interview.
