MLC’s Terrace Restaurant welcomed back acclaimed chefs Michelle Rogerson and Yasu Yoshida from Ocha Japanese Restaurant for a special Guest Chef lunch, with seating all booked out.

The five-course meal was prepared by our Year 12 Hospitality students under Michelle and Yasu’s guidance, with dishes including ‘inside out’ sushi rolls, black sesame dumplings and teriyaki chicken.

The Guest Chef lunches are a fabulous opportunity for MLC’s VCE VET Hospitality students to not only work with Melbourne’s leading chefs, but to actually produce and serve their famous dishes to clientele in the restaurant.

Beverages, including cocktails, mocktails, and coffee, were also expertly prepared and served by the Year 12 front of house staff.

Student find the learning experience incredibly valuable and the lunches are also very well-received from the dining guests!

The Terrace Restaurant is MLC’s purpose-built, full-service commercial facility for VCE VET Hospitality students to hone their skills both front of house and back of house under full supervision, whilst diners can enjoy on-trend, industry-standard dishes and beverages. As students graduate from the program with an industry Certificate in Food and Beverage or Commercial Cookery, it is a great opportunity to support aspiring culinary students whilst enjoying a restaurant-standard meal at an affordable price.
