Empowering Women, Advancing Change: Apply for a Val Kerr Fellowship Grant
The Old Collegians' Club is proud to offer the annual Val Kerr Fellowship Grant Program, supporting Old Collegians in their pursuit of ventures that cultivate female leadership, advance education, and promote social entrepreneurship.
If you're leading a not-for-profit venture that empowers women and champions OCC values, this is your chance to secure up to $10,000 in financial support to bring your vision to life.
Each year we are thrilled to receive an impressive range of applications, showcasing a range of remarkable and impactful projects undertaken by our Old Collegians. It is always inspiring to explore these ambitious projects.
Past successful projects are diverse and include assisting refugee women through employment, holding an exhibition to combat historical revision and genocide denial, raising funds to prevent violence against women, supporting women affected by natural disasters, counselling recovering addicts, understanding needs of autistic mothers, and developing an app to help breast-cancer patients.
The latest Old Collegian to receive the Fellowship Grant, Jacyl Shaw (1988), focused on women's leadership programs in the ASEAN region, and bridging the gap between leadership programs and leadership roles. She says ‘I would encourage any alum interested in a project or an opportunity to explore the advancement of women, I'd really encourage you to apply. It was a fabulous opportunity for me this year and I can only attest to the benefits of this type of exploration. One of the incentives was this idea of crafting time, carving out time to be able to explore matters that matter to me, the advancement of women and women's leadership.’
Don’t miss out on this fantastic opportunity to create lasting impact!
Visit the OCC page on the MLC website for more information on how to apply.
Applications are now open and close on 8 July 2025.
