Australia Day Honours

Old Collegians Recognised in 2024

We are proud to announce the achievements of our fellow Old Collegians who were recognized in the Australia Day Honours of 2024. These individuals have exemplified outstanding dedication and service in various fields.

The Honourable Lara Giddings (1990) was appointed an Officer of the Order of Australia (AO) for distinguished service to the people and Parliament of Tasmania and to the community.

Ms Helen Murray (Pyke 1957) was appointed a Member of the Order of Australia (AM) for significant service to the community, particularly as a social worker and educator.

The Honourable Dr Sharman Stone (Bawden 1968) was appointed a Member of the Order of Australia (AM) for significant service to the people and Parliament of Australia.

Ms Evelyn Halls (1989) received a Medal of the Order of Australia (OAM) for service to sports administration and to fencing.

Ms Yvonne Panagacos (Kominos 1968) received a Medal of the Order of Australia (OAM) for service to the Greek community of Melbourne.

Mrs Helen Walker (Price 1980) received a Medal of the Order of Australia (OAM) for service to women through a range of roles.
