Congratulations VCE Class of 2025!

Congratulations VCE Class of 2025!

December 11th, 2025

Today, VCE students across Victoria have received their ATAR results. We are incredibly proud to celebrate the achievements of MLC’s Class of 2025!

This exceptional cohort has demonstrated leadership, resilience, and unwavering support for one another throughout their educational journey.

Key results include:

  • 2 students achieved 99.90
  • 15 students achieved an ATAR of 99 or above, in the top 1% of the state
  • 106 students achieved an ATAR of 90 or above
  • 19 perfect study score of 50, across 9 different subjects including Biology, Psychology, English, EAL, English Language, History Revolutions, Health and Human Development, Food Studies and General Maths

A special congratulations to this year’s VCE Duces, Grace Gonzales and Angela Yin, who attained ATARs of 99.90, and our VCE Dux Secunda, Shirly He, who achieved 99.85.

This year’s graduates embraced a breadth of learning, studying over 40 different VCE subjects while continuing to participate in one of the most extensive co-curricular programs available at a girls’ school in Victoria. Through involvement in music, sport, the arts, and a wide variety of other activities, these opportunities enabled students to explore their interests and develop a range of skills alongside their academic studies.

At MLC, we foster a growth mindset, encouraging students to see their potential as something that grows through effort, reflection, and the right support. This mindset empowers them to embrace challenges, learn from setbacks, and build resilience. These qualities not only underpin strong academic results but also prepare students for success in life beyond school.

Speaking on the results, Principal Julia Shea said, “I am incredibly proud of the way the Year 12s have made the most of every opportunity, not only in the classroom but following their passions through co-curricular involvement, including across 30 sports, performing in over 30 music ensembles and leading over 30 student clubs.”

“We celebrate their diversity of talent, leadership and enthusiasm to contribute to the community, and know they will continue to make meaningful, positive impacts in their future endeavours.”

These VCE results represent only part of the achievements of the Class of 2025, with a further 58 students to receive their International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma Programme results and corresponding ATARs next week.

Hear from our students

The release of VCE results was a moment of pride and reflection for our Year 12 students, a celebration of effort, resilience and growth.

“I’m really happy that all the hard work this year has paid off,” shared Angela Yin, one of our 2025 VCE Duces. “I’m also really happy for my friends and seeing their amazing results as well.”

Fellow Dux, Grace Gonzales, credited the strong sense of support: “The network of support is something I love talking about. I’m immensely grateful for all the teachers—they’re so willing to talk and make time for you.”

Balance and wellbeing were key themes throughout the year. “The less stressed, more relaxed and happier you are, the better you’ll do,” said Annelise Loader, who made time for exercise and friends alongside study.

When asked about their highlights, students spoke warmly about the sense of belonging that defined their final year. “I just felt so close within the MLC community, and I felt like we're all sisters in a way,” shared Annelise. “It was really special to share that final moment with people who are all in the same boat and understand how you’re feeling.”

Miranda Li agreed: “Obviously exams were looming for everyone, but it was nice that we could all put it aside and come together to have some fun.”

Looking ahead, our graduates are stepping confidently into their next chapter. Angela hopes to study Biomedicine at the University of Melbourne, Miranda is considering Law or International Relations at ANU, and others are exploring pathways in science, commerce and dentistry. Catherine Yu summed up her hopes simply: “My biggest goal for the years to come is to stay true to myself. I want to join a lot of clubs, make a lot of friends and just be the best I can.”

Their advice for future VCE students is both thoughtful and practical.

“Choose subjects that you're truly passionate about because it makes it easier to study for. For me, Languages was really my calling. And make good use of your teachers as they are your best resources,” shares Angela.

“Prioritise connection and relationships. It's important to hang out with your friends, have a great time and just immerse yourself in this experience,” said Catherine.

“Cramming is overrated! Start early and you’ll end up doing less work, it will pay off in the long term. You’ll feel more balanced and in control, and then you can actually enjoy other parts of your life,” said Grace.
