Careers Expo connects students with pathways and possibilities

On Wednesday, 28 May, MLC hosted its annual Careers Expo — a much-anticipated event that gives students and families the chance to explore post-school options and gain valuable insights into the world of work, study and life beyond the College gates.

This year, more than 500 students and parents from Years 9 to 12 attended the Expo. The event plays a key role in supporting students as they begin to make important decisions about their futures. For our Year 10 and 11 students, it comes at a timely point as they prepare to select subjects for the following year. For Year 12s, it offers a chance to hear first-hand experiences that help inform their decisions as they look toward life after secondary school.

A highlight of the event was the opportunity to hear from a number of MLC alumnae across a diverse range of professional panels, including:

  • Medical and Health
  • Art and Design
  • Business
  • Law and Humanities
  • Science

Across each panel, alumnae shared stories from their journeys — the unexpected turns, the pivotal moments, and the different ways they’ve shaped their careers. Their reflections reminded students that no two paths are alike and that exploration, curiosity and adaptability are valuable assets.

We were delighted to welcome back 19 Old Collegians who generously volunteered their time to speak with current students and families. Their participation is a powerful example of the enduring MLC community and the strength of our alumnae network.

Thank you to everyone who made this year’s Careers Expo such a meaningful and inspiring event. It’s yet another reminder that MLC’s support for students extends well beyond the classroom — helping them to build knowledge, confidence and clarity as they take their next steps.
