Congratulations IB Class of 2025

Congratulations IB Class of 2025

December 18th, 2025

Congratulations to MLC’s International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma Class of 2025, who received their IB diploma scores yesterday and their notional ATARs today.

The IB Diploma Programme at MLC encourages students to inquire critically, examine issues through an international lens, and build the academic discipline to thrive in university and beyond. Today’s results highlight the passion, resilience and determination of MLC’s 2025 IB cohort, as well as the College’s commitment to fostering a learning environment where every student feels empowered to embrace academic challenges with confidence, supported in their wellbeing and personal growth.

As one of Victoria’s longest-standing IB schools, MLC has proudly offered the IB Diploma for over two decades, with students consistently achieving perfect diploma scores for more than 15 consecutive years. The College fosters a culture where intellectual curiosity, community engagement and global awareness go hand in hand.

Key results include:

  • 2 students achieved a perfect diploma score of 45
  • A further 3 students achieved a diploma score of 44
  • 19 students achieved a diploma score of 40 or above
We extend our congratulations to this year’s IB Duces, Nishka Khanna and Eliza Zhang, and to our IB Dux Secundae, Madeleine McGregor, Anna Wang, and Mary-Jane Zhang.

Speaking on the results, Principal Julia Shea said: “Our 2025 IB students have shown what can be achieved when young people are encouraged to take responsibility for their learning and pursue their interests with confidence. Their results reflect sustained effort, curiosity and the opportunities available to them at MLC.”

“I am especially proud of the way our students balanced academic rigour with embracing extensive and varied leadership, service and co-curricular opportunities, as evidenced by their CAS (Creativity, Activity, Service) projects. Supported by their teachers, they have grown in capability and purpose, and they leave MLC well prepared for the next stage of their lives.”

Nishka Khanna, one of our IB Duces, shared her reflections:

“This morning, I was pretty nervous, my stomach was tying itself up into knots, but now I feel like I've finally been able to stop holding my breath. I feel really, really good. I'm very proud of myself and I'm very thankful for like all the people that got me here.”

“I really tried to balance studies with doing things that fulfilled my social needs and have fun. I was a lead in the Senior Musical this year. It was a very successful performance, we had three shows and it was six months of rehearsals alongside Year 12.”

“But I learnt that I do a lot better at my studies if I give myself that time to do something that I love as well. And for me that was performing. So then I'd be able to come home and get to work on my studies feeling a bit rejuvenated because I’d done what I loved beforehand.”

“I think the best part about the IB programme at MLC is that you're never alone. It's very, very supportive. I think that's the biggest thing that helped me through this year, is constantly staying in contact with teachers and just leaning on that support.”

“Next year, I'm really hoping to do a double degree in law and something politics related, so either PPE [Politics, Philosophy or Economics] or International Relations.”

“My advice for students starting IB is to never stop asking questions. Make sure that you are constantly communicating with your teachers because they are all experts in their subjects and they love their subjects.”

These qualities have shaped generations of MLC women, and it is inspiring to see the same spirit so clearly in the Class of 2025.
