At the annual Head of Schoolgirls Regatta, the pinnacle event of the schoolgirl rowing season, we had an incredible 127 rowers who competed on the Barwon River.
A total of 23 crews donned the green and white for MLC, with many more family members, friends and staff gathering to cheer them on.
The Junior and Inter squads made 16 of 17 A finals; the Senior 2nd VIII collected bronze, Senior 3rd VIII claimed victory in their B final, and the Senior 1st VIII showed great resilience in a tightly fought division and are excited to be heading to Tasmania next week for the Australian Rowing Championships.

Across the entire regatta, MLC finished third on the overall medal tally, a testament to the depth and strength of the program. We extend our thanks to the support and tireless work of the many coaches and families!
Our Senior 1st VIII then took to the waters at the Australian Rowing Championships in Tasmania, along with the Inter quad sculls who formed an U17 Schoolgirl Eight. Huge congratulations to this team of Year 10s who took out the National title!
A round of applause to the Senior 1st VIII where despite the results not going their way in Tasmania, they have continued the proud legacy for MLC’s 1st VIII Rowing crews characterised by respect, humility and toughness, and role modelled for our next generation of rowers coming through.

Once graduated from MLC, the rowing doesn't stop there! Former Senior VIII members, Sara, Meg, Katie and Ruby, are also representing Victoria in the Queens Cup Women’s VIII, and Amy representing Victoria in the Youth VIII. Congratulations!
