Junior School has multiple communal spaces and dedicated play areas for Prep-Year 2 and Years 3-6, a stimulating and caring environment, where students build a love of learning.
Technology is an important part of Junior School, with Prep – Year 2 students using their own iPads and Years 3-6 using their own notebook computers. Our specialist programs include Library, PE, Art, Music, Japanese (French in Years 5 and 6), Outdoor Education (from Year 3) and RE delivered by one of our College Chaplains.

Junior School Curriculum
Students undertake a fully integrated curriculum that develops their curiosity and builds a solid foundation in literacy and numeracy, with a dedicated Literacy Coordinator and Mathematics Support specialists for extra support.
Remote learning at our MLC Banksia site program is introduced in Years 5 and 6. Each MLC Banksia experience is strategically planned to enable personal skill development, confidence building, teamwork and the opportunity to learn in a unique environment. Learning experiences are theme-based and have strong links to the Kew curriculum.
Student wellbeing is integral to the learning process in Junior School. Wellbeing initiatives include the Bounceback! Program, Buddy Program, mindfulness, meditation and yoga, and are delivered in a wider positive education framework to help them thrive in a balanced and healthy way.
