The concrete shell of the 50-metre pool — including a 4-metre-deep diving bowl — is now clearly visible, alongside the Learn to Swim pool, changerooms and underground car park. These milestones mark real momentum in the creation of a state-of-the-art precinct for movement, sport and wellbeing.
Designed to serve MLC students and the broader community, the Aquatics Centre will support everything from foundational programs like Learn to Swim to the high-performance pathways of the MLC Aquatic Club, welcoming both MLC and non-MLC athletes. It reflects the College’s longstanding commitment to championing girls in sport while also extending access to programs that build lifelong confidence, resilience, and wellbeing.
Beyond the build itself, the precinct is already becoming a platform for learning and creativity. A new interactive learning space, developed in partnership with builder Kapitol Group, has opened on campus to help students explore the project more deeply. All students, from Kindergarten to Year 12, are invited to ask questions, connect their learning, and contribute their ideas, with mural design competitions and input into interior graphics planned in the months ahead.
Phase 1 remains on track to open in mid-2026 and will mark an exciting new chapter in how MLC supports student wellbeing, physical activity and community connection.
The 50-metre pool and Learn to Swim pool shells are now visible on site as Phase 1 progresses.
