Construction Updates

Construction Updates

Updated: 25 June 2026

The construction has been carefully planned in two phases to ensure minimal disruption to students and staff while allowing key facilities, such as the Aquatic Centre, to become operational as early as possible.

Phase 1 (2025–June 2026): Construction of the Aquatic Centre, Athletics Hub, outdoor courts, and an enhanced Junior School playground. Phase 1 is now complete.

Phase 2 (June 2026–End 2027): Construction of the Indoor Sports Centre, additional outdoor courts, and completion of the underground car park.

Regular updates on key milestones and operational adjustments will also be shared with families via the Connections newsletter, to keep everyone informed and prepared.

Phase 2 progress

Phase 2 is now underway, beginning with the demolition of the existing Physical Education Centre from 29 June 2026.

Construction will then begin on the new Indoor Sports Centre. The underground carpark, including more than 200 spaces, will also be completed.

Phase 2 is expected to be completed at the end of 2027.

Access to Campus

As construction for Phase 2 is in progress, parking on campus will remain limited, with only a few spaces available in the Chapel Carpark. When visiting the campus, it is strongly recommended to allow time to find parking in surrounding streets, adhering to Boroondara Council restrictions.

Note: With the commencement of Phase 2, some parking spaces along Fitzwilliam Street are no longer available.

We are working with our builders to minimise noise and other impacts on our community, but several changes to parking and traffic flow around the campus have been necessary.

Lofts Avenue and Fitzwilliam Street: Access and Traffic

Construction traffic will use the site access points on Lofts Avenue and Fitzwilliam Street outside of peak traffic hours. This has required the closure of the pedestrian footpaths, drop-off zones, and parking spaces alongside the development on both Lofts Avenue and Fitzwilliam Street.

Construction traffic is being carefully managed to avoid peak times. Truck movement in and out will be scheduled predominantly between 7 - 8 am and 8.30 am - 2.45 pm. We recommend avoiding Lofts Avenue and Fitzwilliam Street during these times. Traffic controllers are stationed in the area to manage pedestrian safety and the flow of construction vehicles.

To ensure safety and alleviate congestion, families are encouraged to minimise using Lofts Avenue, Fitzwilliam Steet and avoid parking near the construction site entries and exits.
