In the last week of the 2018 school year, our Year 7s and 8s enjoyed STEAM Week, after a very successful initial run in 2017.

Each year level completed their own task and challenges:

  • Our Year 7s enjoyed a group collaboration project (over 200 students!) to design and build a 1:200 scale city made up of precincts: CBD, residential, industrial, education/medical and cultural. Each board needed to include Arduino circuits.

To read more about the pedegogy behind the STEAM City project, read our article here about its inception.
  • Our Year 8s each chose a mini-project to work on collaboratively in order to complete a set challenge, resulting in a product or artefact to present and display alongside a design brief. From drones to Virtual Reality, arcade games to robotics!

Watch our video below which showcases the variety of the activities that happened. Huge thanks to the many heads of departments and teachers who put in much time and effort to make it all happen for our students!
