Music is an integral part of the core curriculum from Junior School at Methodist Ladies' College. In Middle School, students may choose the direction of their musical experiences, and in Senior School, they can study Music as part of the VCE or VCE VET course.
At all levels, students may take extra-curricular private lessons, and play or sing in MLC's many co-curricular (link to co-curricular music) ensembles. In Years 7 and 8, the Music course aims to enrich each student's appreciation of a range of musical styles and give them the opportunity to perform and compose music.
