MLC’s world-leading Education Outdoors programs provide numerous opportunities for students to develop self-confidence, teamwork and cooperative skills while enhancing their knowledge of the natural environment and sustainable living.

In Junior School, a camps program begins in Year 3 and includes trips to MLC Banksia for students in Years 5 and 6.

Students in Years 7 and 8 also visit MLC Banksia before embarking on a much-anticipated 8 weeks at MLC Marshmead in Year 9.

In Senior School, MLC’s unique ‘Outdoor Leaders’ program provides an opportunity for motivated students to mentor younger peers through their Education Outdoors journey.

MLC also offers the Duke of Edinburgh Award program. Students in Years 9 and above are able to join this non-competitive program involving community service and adventure based activities of a practical and physical nature.

1991 was the first year of MLC’s innovative MLC Marshmead program.
