Methodist Ladies' College is one of Australia’s leading independent girls’ schools, internationally renowned for our extensive curriculum choice, cutting edge approach to education, varied learning experiences and outstanding academic results.
Founded in 1882 and with a proud history of educational innovation and academic excellence, MLC delivers a world-class education to students from all over Melbourne, across Australia and around the world.
As an open-entry school our over-arching goal is to nurture and develop each student in our care, so that she leaves us with the skills, knowledge and attitude necessary to be a world-ready woman in today’s globalised era.
MLC’s approach to education differentiates us from other schools in our region:
MLC offers one of the broadest curricula of any independent school. Subject variety is a hallmark of an MLC education, and as students move towards their final years of secondary school, they are able to choose from a wide range of subjects from three distinct pathways; the VCE, VCE VET and IB.
As well as an exceptional and varied academic program, our co-curricular program is extensive and features sports, clubs and opportunities to ignite and fuel every student’s interests and talents.
An MLC education includes access to a wide range of unique curricular and co-curricular programs including:
MLC has a long-established culture of academic achievement. An open entry school, MLC’s combined IB, VCE and VCE VET Year 12 results are consistently outstanding with 51 per cent of students achieving an ATAR of over 90 and 12.3 per cent achieving an ATAR of over 99 in 2015.
