After competing at the National Finals of the F1 in Schools competition earlier this month (

After Team Xeno Motion won their State Final and recently shone at Nationals in Tasmania, three members have been invited by judges to form a combined team with three Year 10 boys from Haileybury College. Ingrid Wanata, Katrine Shi and Annabel Sutherland are all in Year 9 and their team also included Mischa Gilligan and Stephanie Liang, both Year 8.
It was the first time that MLC had participated in F1 in Schools and were tremendously proud to field three teams – coming 1
st, 3
rd and 4
th in Victoria.
At National level, Xeno Motion won Best Graphic Design and Outstanding Industry Collaboration, impressing the judges to form the new combined team with Haileybury. They were also the only all-girls team in their competition class and one of only two all-girls teams overall.
The new, combined team will start work in the upcoming weeks to prepare for the World Finals in Singapore. Foundation work includes designating team roles, a new team name and new logo and graphics.
They will now also be competing in the Professional class, rather than the Development class, which has extra regulations in car design.
This collaboration team will compete alongside two more Australian teams for the World Finals.
The team needs plenty of support in the lead up to the World Finals, including products, field expertise or financial sponsorship. If you are interested in helping the team on their journey, please contact them via email
