Media is one of the most powerful and absorbing aspects of our lives today and, at MLC, students can become a part of it. In MLC's unique media education facility,  they can create media productions in a state of the art television studio with a full control room, studio cameras, lights and sound recording, as well as having the magic of chroma-key for including the latest in special effects.

The MLC Media Department provides an enormous range of practical learning opportunities. Students can work in a wide range of media formats including video, photography and print. They write, produce, shoot and edit their own films, animations and multimedia products. Their media products are made with the latest digital technologies, giving them first hand experience using industry standard equipment.

Students gain powerful insights into the way the local and global industry works as they learn. At the senior level, MLC students have a consistent record of high achievement for their media products, achieving excellent results and regularly winning awards for their work in student festivals.

Subjects offered by the Media Department include Media, Cinema, TV Studio Production, VCE Media Studies and VET Certificate II in Interactive Multimedia.
