At MLC, Japanese comes to life through communication in real situations and cultural understanding. Students can choose to study Japanese from Year 7, and continue through to the VCE and IB programs in Years 11 and 12. Accelerated students can also undertake University Enhancement studies. 

The academic course is supported by a number of activities including a Japanese assistant program, which provides support for students in all year levels and aims to enhance conversational skills and cultural understanding. Other activities include visits from Japanese students, exchanges and hosting through our sister school program, tours to Japan and activities including cultural demonstrations and competitions.
