All the world’s a stage and you are invited to be a player!
MLC’s Dramatic Arts Department offers a rich and Drama five girls 2003
exciting range of subjects and co- curricular experiences,
which foster personal growth, performance and stagecraft skills.

Our commitment to the pursuit of excellence is reflected in our students’ achievements at MLC and beyond. A number of students have secured places at world-renowned acting training academies, both nationally and internationally. Our students’ achievements have also been recognised in the Victorian Premier’s Awards. In 2000, MLC students won four of the five awards for Drama.

Drama is offered as a core subject in Years 7 – 10, and an exciting range of electives are available for Year 8 – 10. For students in Years 11 and 12, VCE Drama, VCE Theatre Studies or IB Theatre Arts are offered.

Our innovative co-curricular program offers:

  • Productions, Festivals and Special Events
  • Speech and Drama
  • Drama Club
  • Shakespeare Workshop
  • Interstate and International Tours
  • Drama Camps
  • Theatre Visits

At MLC, students study Drama in a supportive environment where they are encouraged to take risks and to meet new challenges. While group interaction dominates in the classroom, there is a strong emphasis on students’ individual needs, and the development of confidence and self-awareness through participation.
