Chemistry involves almost every aspect of our daily lives. From artificial materials such as plastics, drugs, dyes, building materials and food, to the extraction of metals from their ores and the fossil fuels, chemistry forms the basis of many other areas of science.

chemistry

Chemical principles underpin the physical environment in which we live and are the foundation upon which biochemical systems are studied.

The central nature of Chemistry explains why it is an integral part of many higher education courses, such as medicine, pharmacology, engineering, and biological and environmental sciences. In today's society, Chemistry is a science for everyone and everyday chemical knowledge is assumed in the way information is presented in the media.

Chemistry is an experimental science that requires the acquisition of practical skills as well as the study of theoretical knowledge. At MLC, the Chemistry program covers all these aspects of this key area of science.
