MLC Junior School was the birthplace of the world's first laptop program. The program, which commences in Year 5 when students receive their first notebook computer, is the start of an important learning journey. It begins with the building of the students' technology skills by using word-processing, spreadsheets and database packages in their daily work, as part of a fully integrated curriculum.
Our students are able to create multi-media projects, build and program robots and design their own web pages. The Junior School's wireless network gives each student access to the College internet and its extensive library and research facilities, as well as a portal to the world wide web and email facilities. Students experience using their notebooks as powerful anytime, anywhere learning tools.
Each lower primary class also has desktop computers and printers in their rooms, as well as access to two technology rooms with facilities for each student to work at a computer for technology related lessons.
