Updated 24 November, 2017.

MLC's new 7/8 Learning Centre will be constructed during the course of 2018, however initial works to enable this exciting new project will begin with the relocation of our substation. The project management team have worked closely with the builder to keep disruption to a minimum.

Substation works:

CitiPower have just advised us of the timeframe of when they will be excavating the three points around the Chapel Carpark. This is the final stage of construction of our new substation.

Two of these excavation points will affect the carpark traffic flow and parking spaces, primarily in front of the Red Administration Building. From Friday, 24 November, a small temporary diversion will be in place to ensure the safety of the MLC community and construction workers. This will be in place until approximately Thursday, 7 December, but timelines are subject to change at CitiPower’s discretion.

It is important to note that the exit driveway onto Barkers Road will be closed between the hours of 9.30 am – 2.30 pm. During this timeframe, cars will be required to exit via the regular entrance driveway. An MLC commissionaire will be in and around the carpark and will liaise with CitiPower’s traffic management as necessary.

Prior to 9.30 am and after 2.30 pm, which are our peak drop-off and pickup times, the excavation point will be covered with a plate, and traffic flow will be as per normal.

Four car parking spaces on the south-eastern corner of the carpark will be closed to parking to accommodate this process. Other parking will not be affected, and pedestrian access remains unchanged.

Please be aware that these dates of excavation are subject to change.
