The Reverend Norman George Curry Scholarship

(means-tested)

Awarded to students that demonstrate academic excellence and who are the daughters of Clergy and whose financial circumstances would prevent them from attending the College. Students are individually evaluated to also consider their accomplishments, talents, passions and enthusiasm for learning.

 

OPENING DATE: MONDAY, 14 OCTOBER 2019
CLOSING DATE: 5PM WEDNESDAY, 19 FEBRUARY 2020
SCHOLARSHIP TEST DATE: SATURDAY, 29 FEBUARY 2020

 

Year of Entry:


Year 7 (Scholarship tenable for 6 years)        
Year 9 (Scholarship tenable for 4 years)
Year 10 (Scholarship tenable for 3 years)    
Year 11 (Scholarship tenable for 2 years)



Eligibility:
 

  • Australian citizens, permanent Australian residents or temporary residents
  • Currently at MLC or attending another school
  • A candidate who would not ordinarily be able to afford the tuition fees
  • The daughter or daughters of Clergy

Documentation to be uploaded with Scholarship Application:
 
  • Results of the most recent School Report
  • Evaluation of a 200-word statement on why the candidate is applying for this scholarship; This should be written by the student and demonstrate their accomplishments, talents, leadership, reason for wanting to attend MLC and the connection with her Indigenous community.
  • A passport sized photo


The applicant will then have:
 

  • Evaluation of the MLC Scholarship - Financial Statement form (allows overall financial circumstances to be considered)
  • Evaluation through Interview. Candidates short-listed for an interview will be contacted by telephone and/or email.


Value:

 

  • A percentage of the annual tuition fees and technology levy. This includes computer, technology support and peripherals


Conditions:
 
  • Scholarship holders are expected to complete their secondary education at MLC - Refer to the MLC Scholarship Terms & Conditions.

 
Application Steps
Step 1:
Apply for an MLC Scholarship by clicking on the link at the bottom of this page. Please complete the Scholarship Application and click submit.

Step 2: Once you have submitted an MLC Scholarship Application you will receive a notification email from Admissions requesting you to register for the ACER Scholarship Test.  Please note that the ACER Scholarship Test registration is a compulsory component of the Principal’s Scholarship Application.
A payment of $115.00 will be required to register for the ACER Scholarship Test.
Follow the instructions provided within the email notification from MLC.

Step 3: Complete the MLC Scholarship - Financial Statement form attached to the notification email and return to admissions@mlc.vic.edu.au 

Step 4: Attend the ACER Scholarship Test on Saturday, 29 February 2020. Details about the Scholarship testing will be sent to registered candidates one week prior to the test.
 
Step 5: Short-listed candidates will be contacted to arrange an interview time. All other applicants will be contacted via email.
