Independent Schools Victoria
MLC is a member of the Independent Schools Association (ISV). ISV is a not-for-profit organisation dedicated to Independent education, committed to promoting, developing and protecting the autonomy of Member Schools. The ISV provides a range of professional services.
Australian Boarding Schools Australia
The Australian Boarding Schools Australia (ABSA) is a leading authority in Australia on boarding for school-aged children. It promotes the interest and wellbeing of boarding students and their families, staff and boarding institutions in Australia. MLC works with ABSA to ensure we continue to deliver the best possible boarding experience for our students.
Melbourne Graduate School of Education
MLC works closely with The University of Melbourne's, Melbourne Graduate School of Education.
MLC works closely with Yalari to support our indigenous scholarship program. Yalari is a not-for-profit organisation that offers quality, secondary education scholarships at leading Australian boarding schools for Indigenous children from regional, rural and remote communities.
Melbourne Schools Partnership International
The MSPI is a unique alliance between the University of Melbourne and selected schools including MLC. Each year, the program assists MLC to support our high calibre international students.
The Australian Year 12 Program taught by all MSPI schools is a recognised study pathway for application into the University of Melbourne.
Reggio Emilia Australia Information Exchange
MLC Kindle uses aspects of the Reggio Emilia philosophy in developing its programs. REAIE supports organisations and draws on the educational project in Reggio Emilia as the ongoing catalyst for thinking, research and advocacy in Australian educational settings.
Richmond Rowing Club
MLC Rowing is fortunate to operate out of the Richmond Rowing Club facilities located on Boathouse Drive on the Yarra River. These facilities were re-developed in 2014 and provide MLC rowers with great access to the river, boat storage, change rooms, a gym and even a classroom space. The location makes it easy for students to catch the train back to school in time for class after early morning training sessions.
Melbourne Indigenous Transition School (MITS) provides support for indigenous students moving from remote or regional communities to big city schools, making that step can be hugely difficult. MITS seeks to empower Indigenous students to make this step.
GROK Learning provides resources using the latest technology for coding and STEM education in the classroom. MLC has integrated their services in the teaching of Python in order to help our studnts learn the skills they will require to be creators of the future.
The MLC Gymnastics Club is open to both MLC students and the wider community. As one of Australia’s leading Gymnastics Club, programs include Kindergym, Gymnastics For All, Women’s Artistic Gymnastics, Dance and Cheerleading. MLC Gymnastics has been named the 2019 best Large Club in Victoria by Gymnastics Victoria.
MLC Swimming is a community based competitive swimming club that trains predominantly at MLC in Kew. The Club promotes the development of swimmers of either gender, at every stage, from Learn to Swim at MLC Swim School through to National Teams. MLC Aquatic, the competitive arm of MLC Swimming regularly placing in the top ranked clubs in Victoria and Australia. In 2019 MLC Aquatic ranked 2nd in Victoria and 4th in Australia at the National Championships.
